JP Morgan was the first bank with a Metaverse branch. The American bank has opened virtual headquarters named Onyx Lounge on Decentraland. Visitors to the virtual room are welcomed by a roaming tiger and a digital portrait of Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan. Stairs then lead clients up to another room to meet a manager who presents the bank’s cryptocurrency. The name was not chosen at random, but refers to JP Morgan’s Onyx Suite, a set of services linked to Web 3.0, the Ethereum Blockchain and the Metaverse.
